RENU Contracting Restoration and Milburn Flooring have been taking center stage in public buildings reconstructing and improving auditoriums, meeting rooms and theaters. Currently RENU and Milburn are working together to update and renovate two middle school auditoriums in Connetquot school district. They are also working in Oakdale Bohemia MS, Ronkonkoma, and East Meadow Public Library’s auditorium extension.
Milburn has taken on jobs updating the flooring in Huntington Public Library and Harbor field Public Library auditorium.
Oakdale Bohemia and Ronkonkoma Middle school auditoriums are active jobs that both RENU and Milburn are working on. With the exception of a recent floor installation by Milburn a few years ago, the auditoriums have not been updated in many years. RENU and Milburn are working simultaneously with architect John Grillo to make this job happen. The entire auditoriums were gutted in February 2021. The project was originally supposed to start in June 2021 when school let out but thanks to the great team effort and communication with the architect and the school district, they were able to start earlier beginning work after school hours. RENU is installing new AVC unit brackets on the roof, providing electrical work, carpentry, seating, stage extension, fire alarms, acoustic panels, and a high-end A/V system while Milburn will take care of the flooring consisting of carpet and epoxy. The project is expected to be done before school goes begins again in September 2021.
East Meadow Public Library has been under construction since June 2020. This project has a few phases. The first stage of the project was able to begin while half of the building remained open. Occupied spaces is one of RENU’s specialties. Following that, the whole library had to be gutted from wall to wall. At that time ground-breaking started for the addition of a brand-new auditorium where meetings and community events will take place. The 3,300 square foot auditorium with elevated stadium chairs and a total of 246 seats were built from the ground up and replaced a portion of the old driveway. A new electric and heating system was also installed throughout the entire library. These units are now located in the back of the auditorium for easy access. Milburn is installing LVT and broadloom carpet for the aisles.
Huntington Public Library and Harborfields Public Library are both active floor replacement jobs using a mix of carpet tile and LVT. Milburn Flooring continues to take part in many renovations throughout our local public libraries including stages and auditorium spaces. They are dedicated to help update learning centers so they remain places the community enjoys using.
