Milburn Flooring partnered with East Ramapo Central School District to deliver a large-scale flooring upgrade at Chestnut Ridge Middle School. The project focused on improving durability, performance, and aesthetics throughout the facility by replacing outdated materials with modern commercial flooring solutions.
Our team removed the existing vinyl composition tile (VCT) and prepared the concrete slab with extensive floor preparation, including self-leveling for a smooth and stable foundation. Proper substrate preparation ensures long-term performance, especially in high-traffic educational environments where reliability is essential.
Once the base was ready, we installed Mannington Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) across more than 76,000 square feet of space. This modern LVT solution was selected for its combination of strength, low maintenance, and design versatility. In addition, we furnished and installed new 4-inch cove base to provide a clean, finished transition along all wall edges. Together, these surfaces create a cohesive look that is both durable and easy to maintain.
Carpet tile was also installed in the school’s music room, offering comfort, acoustic benefits, and easy replacement if sections ever require updating. This choice enhances the functionality of the space while maintaining a polished, professional appearance.
Throughout the project, careful planning minimized disruption to the school schedule. Milburn Flooring coordinated with district staff to protect surrounding finishes, maintain safety, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The result is a complete transformation of the school’s interior floors, providing an environment that supports both students and staff.
