Hustling at Hofstra

Milburn Flooring has taken on successful projects with Hofstra University over the years including the installation of the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex, the men’s lacrosse locker room, dining facilities, and other spaces around the campus. Over the past few months Milburn has completed rip-ups, performed floor prep work including self-leveling, and installed flooring in multiple buildings throughout the 244-acre campus. One of the latest installations was another men’s and women’s locker rooms. These spaces required removal of the existing rubber floor and grinding. Grinding increases the safety and condition of a surface by turning rough, damaged concrete into a smooth, hard surface prepping it to be in optimal condition for any floor installation. This 3,200 sq. ft. area received Tarkett rolled rubber flooring. At the Student Center the second floor has 17,000 sq. ft. of newly installed Tarkett LVT plank from the Latitude collection in Urban Oak while Alumni Hall welcomes its postgraduates with 200 yards of Mohawk Broken Checks broadloom carpet and Mannington LVT plank from the Amitco Wood Color collection.

Throughout the years, Milburn Flooring and the arena Athletic Director and Facility Managers have established a great relationship as a result of a consistent productive and mutually rewarding collaborations. It is because of this that Milburn is looking forward to upcoming projects at Hofstra including the installation of the School of Law’s mock courtrooms and the women’s basketball lounge.
