Cairo-Durham High School was scheduled for a routine sports flooring sand and refinish in the summer of 2022. A challenge arose when the school requested the replacement of old sharp metal ramps with something safer and more visually appealing. Milburn’s team proposed using ADA Compliant Sports Flooring Ramps by Safepath as the solution.

CourtEdge™ Reducer Ramps are designed to remove vertical barriers and be affixed to the vertical sides of sports flooring, gyms, and other raised platforms that need a smooth transition from the subfloor. Made of durable rubber, these ramps eliminate sharp or hazardous edges and are fully ADA compliant, ensuring accessibility for all. In the high school, all four corners of the room had CourtEdge™ Reducer Ramps installed.

Designed for interior and exterior applications, CourtEdge™ Reducers will not freeze, crack, or splinter. Milburn worked with RENU to remove the old ramps, and RENU’s skilled carpenters installed new footings so the CourtEdge™ Ramps fit seamlessly with the wood floor. After this safe, durable, and visually appealing solution, the wood flooring system was sanded, refinished, and finished with a newly painted school logo—demonstrating how ADA Compliant Sports Flooring Ramps can enhance safety, accessibility, and aesthetics in school gyms.
