Long Beach High School boasts a unique waterfront location, offering students a picturesque view of the bay from its library. Recently, the Long Beach High School library renovation provided an enhanced environment for students. Prior to this transformation, the library suffered from severe outdatedness, marked by sagging drop ceilings and antiquated fixtures, flooring, and furniture. The school district decided to revitalize the library.
RENU executed the renovation project and encountered several noteworthy challenges, all of which were successfully overcome. The paramount challenge was to complete the project within the stringent six-week timeframe. The demolition encompassed the disconnection of electrical systems, ceilings, and bookshelves. RENU refurbished the existing concrete walls, ceilings, and stairs through meticulous painting and refinishing.
To rejuvenate the space, new drop ceilings with 2×2 lay-in fixtures were installed on the lower level. The lower level received a fresh installation of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), while the upper level was adorned with carpet tiles. The introduction of 48 pendant fixtures suspended on aircraft cables saturated the space with a modern aesthetic.
Remarkably, this extensive project exemplifies the success of the Long Beach High School library renovation, was executed in the prescribed six-week timeframe, ensuring that students could once again benefit from this revitalized library space following their school break.
